WORDS FAIL LYRICS

Say the right words … Just the right words                      Say the right words … Just the right words
If I just said the right words
Chose them well
The truth tapped from my heart
They’d nest in your soul
And you would see …
feel … know … might even believe … feel… know… might even believe?
If only the words
would come, flow free
The truth pure and clear
You would see how I ache
To find the words
that you could finally hear…   Would you finally hear?
They would touch that cell
Locked far away
Dungeon beneath our grief.
I’d say those words
Throw open the gates,
And bring you back to me…   Would you fly back to me?
Say the right words … Just the right words
From my heart would burst
Desperate shards; pierce yours;
Shake oceans with my tears
Unmasked eyes would shine …
Love too pure … Truth too raw
for words and mortal ears. Too raw for you to hear?
A page can’t contain
Words fail to convey
What a soul most needs to hear
If I found the right words,
Combined with care,
Spoken the way they feel
Could the page that cuts
then fade to dust,
dismember the memory?
From my heart would burst
Desperate shards; pierce yours;
Shake oceans with my tears
Unmasked eyes would shine …
Love too pure … Truth too raw
for words and mortal ears. Too raw for you to hear?
They would touch that cell
Locked far away
Dungeon beneath our grief.
I’d say those words
Throw open the gates,
And bring you back to me…   Would you fly back to me?
If only you could see … receive … even believe
Where words fail to reach
